International Certified Vocational Evaluator Grandfathering Policy

The College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (the College) has implemented a 12-month Grandfathering Process for the International Certified Vocational Evaluator (ICVE).  To be accepted for the Grandfathering Phase of the new ICVE credential, applicants must be a current holder in good standing of either one of the following vocational evaluator (VE) credentials:

 

1) CCVE in good standing

2) Current Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) as confirmed through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification

3) Lapsed CVE within 5 years of November 2019: Rehabilitation Professionals who have held the CVE credential in the past 5 years and have continued to work within the field of vocational evaluation will be accepted as grandfathering applicants but must submit proof of 20 continuing education hours in the field of vocational evaluation for each year since date of the lapsed CVE.

The fee for the application process and the first year of registration is $325.00 CAD.   This includes a $50.00 process fee and the registration fee of $275.00 first year of registration.  All fees are subject to applicable taxes, according to the region of residence of the applicant.

 

All applicants must complete the application form, pay the fee and submit the required documentation as outlined below:

 

1) CCVE in good standing:

This applicant must submit an updated VSPC if the updated VSPC is required in 2019 or 2020.  An E&O Liability Insurance Certificate must be on file to complete the grandfathering process.  All other annual maintenance requirements must be current.

 

2) Current Certified Vocational Evaluators (CVE):

This applicant must submit documentation from the CRCC that their CVE is current to the month and year of ICVE GF application.  A description of continuing education completed to date may be requested if the last CVE renewal is in excess of 2.5 years.  An original copy of a current police status report must be submitted, along with a copy of the certificate of current Errors and Omissions / Liability Insurance.

 

3) Lapsed CVE within 5 years of November 2019:

This applicant must submit but must submit proof of achieving the CVE, the date of that credential achievement and the date that the CVE lapsed.  In lieu of a current CVE credential, this applicant must submit proof of 20 continuing education hours in the field of vocational evaluation for each year since date of the lapsed CVE. An original copy of a current police status report must be submitted, along with a copy of the certificate of current Errors and Omissions Liability Insurance.

 

The final date for acceptance of ICVE grandfathering application will be December 30, 2020.
